Associació Cultura Creativa

Associació Cultura Creativa is a NGO created in 2016 by the first EVS volunteers in Gandia, Spain. It is focused on cultivating all forms of cultural and creative activities.

In 2016 Svetlana (Bulgaria), Ilaria (Italy) and Alexandros (Cyprus) came to Gandia to take part in the first EVS project in the beautiful town of Gandia, Spain. With a lot of passion and motivation they created «Associació Cultura Creativa», a NGO focused on cultivating all forms of cultural and creative activities. Nowadays to achieve its objectives, Associació Cultura Creativa develops and implements projects at local and international level, workshops and different campaigns to raise the awareness of the local community.

Svetlana Valcheva

I am a youth worker with an educational background in International Relations and a Master’s degree in International Project Management.

Shortly after finishing my studies, I discovered the world of Erasmus+, and just a few months later I joined a nine-month European Voluntary Service (EVS) project focused on Non-Formal Education and Non-Profit Management in the Spanish town of Gandía. Joining the programme was one of the most important decisions I have ever made and, without exaggeration, it changed my life.

During my EVS, we created Associació Cultura Creativa, and very soon it became a fundamental part of who I am. Today, I am the President of the association and the project manager behind the majority of our initiatives, coordinating projects from the initial idea to their implementation and follow-up. I also work as a trainer in international projects and I continuously seek opportunities to improve my knowledge, develop new skills, and grow both personally and professionally.

María Jimenez Gomez

My studies define me as a psychologist but if someone ask me, I should say that is not the best definition. I can define myself as a curious person who has a help spirit and loves to know more about world and societies.

For this reason some year ago I started to participate in volunteering projects with the goals in my mind of help people, discover more about the world, learn about different communities, improve myself and travel. And all of these objectives have been achieved! But also I found out the Erasmus+ world, which taught me another way of education and another itinerary to develop my skills and my profession.

As a consequence, I have participated in many projects with differents topics in order to be able to develop and facilitate projects. And finally, in 2019, I began to play this role with Associació Cultura Creativa.

I’ve been a Youth Worker for all my life, but I discovered it since I met the Erasmus+ world. From that moment my life changed and so my professional way: my curiosity led me, step by step, at first to participate and lead groups, then to organize projects and train youngsters from all the world in my daily life and in international contexts.

I decided to dedicate myself to what makes me burn with passion, trying always to grow more, stay young and never stop learning and being amazed of world, youth and – more than all – myself: that is why I’m here in Cultura Creativa!
